This bowl is from the rarest of walnut woods - Bastogne - which is a hybrid of Claro and English walnuts. Interesting feature of this bowl is a region of "fiddleback" along the inside of the bowl. This area of wavy surface texture is created as the wood grains dry at an uneven rate following hollowing and is very desired.
